Church Stained Glass Tour
This week our 5th Graders joined Fr. Craig, our associate pastor, in Gesu Church to hear about the stained glass windows that are present there. The students learned that the windows on the side of the church where Jesus’ statue is present contains symbols having to do with Jesus and his Sacred Heart, and the other side (which has the statue of Mary) are symbols having to do with her Immaculate Heart. Many of the symbols are very common ones that are not simply religious, but that also are present in many different forms, periods, and styles of art.
They then also learned about the special decorations that are present in the church during this special Easter Season in the Church’s calendar, particularly the Paschal Candle.
