About Gesu
Established in 1920, Gesu Catholic Church & School has a long history of family, faith and community.
The Gesu Catholic Church community is made up of about 400 families and households who are registered as parishioners.
Many of the members of our parish come from the West and Central Toledo neighborhoods of Westmoreland, Old Orchard, Bancroft Hills, and also from the nearby Village of Ottawa Hills.
However, with such a long and rich faith tradition, there are people who come from all parts of the Toledo Metro Area to be a part of the Gesu family, some whose families have been members for generations.
Our school family is just as diverse, with students coming to Gesu from all different parts of Central Toledo and other parts of the Toledo Metro area. While it is not required that students and families who come to Gesu be a part of our church community, it is certainly welcome and encouraged!

Welcome students and families to Gesu School!
We are very proud of our strong, vibrant history that dates our Gesu Catholic Community back to 1920. We are pleased that you have chosen to be part of this rich tradition of excellence at Gesu School.
As educators, we take our role very seriously in developing your children academically, socially, and spiritually. We strive to stay current with the best possible methods to educate within the Catholic school setting. We count on your support to help us in our ministry.
We are in a unique position of assisting each other as we guide these young lives. Our homes and our classrooms must be settings of unconditional love, affirmation, responsibility, and forgiveness. We must share our rituals, symbols, and stories of faith every day.
The motto of Gesu is, “WE ARE GESU”.
This motto acknowledges that we all work together. Here at Gesu our students are being prepared academically, spiritually and socially to excel at the highest level. Our Gesu students will be excellent in everything they do. Helping our students realize their full potential and setting them up for success is our ultimate goal. This idea of teamwork and working together is something that must be done with students, parents, teachers and the entire Gesu community. Working together, respecting each other, and being there for someone when help is needed will ensure growth of our Gesu community for years to come.
