Our current playground at Gesu Catholic School
Here at Gesu Catholic School, we strive to be a place where a kid can be a kid and do so in a way that is safe. With this in mind, the playground at our school is the place on campus where kids can most be themselves. However, our current playground is approaching the end of its useful life. Installed in 2001, our playground is beginning to show its age and approaching a point where there are safety issues.
Some of the breakage in our current playground.
Because of this, we are looking to replace our playground and we need your help! According to the companies we have talked to, the cost of a new playground (which includes removal and disposal of the old one) will cost between $175,000 and $200,000. That is no small amount, to be sure! But it is worth it in order to give our children a place where they can have fun and build friendships and relationships that we hope will last a lifetime.
How can you help? Well, we have a very generous donor who has already committed $35,000 to the project and has promised to match an additional $35,000 if others get on board. So, every little bit counts!
